Purchases Before Baby Shower

I am 22 weeks pregnant with our first baby and I am feeling a lot of anxiety to get everything ready. We are both teachers, and with the uncertainty of the school year I feel like I need to “be prepared” for this part of our lives. My showers are not until the end of September and beginning of October, but I feel like I need to get some things to feel prepared. Any advice for a FTM of what is logical to buy ahead of time and what to wait on?
