How fast does labor happen?

Question

I’m 39 weeks with zero signs of progression 😒☹️ barely any contractions, and when I do have them they are not intense or don’t hurt at all.  Belly is still high.  
Anyone ever have zero symptoms and then suddenly go into labor?
I know I’m not “overdue” yet since I’m not quite at 40 weeks, but still looking for advice

I never had any kind of symptoms prior to labor. I had lost my mucus plug on several occasions over a two week period. At 40 weeks, I was bouncing on my birthing ball, and as I stood up to get off it...my water broke. Shortly after I started having very mild contractions, and then within an hour or so I was knee deep in labor.

I didn’t have any signs, I went to sleep and my terrible contractions woke me up. That was the start of my labor with my first child. 
I was in labor for 9 hours
With my second I got induced so that whole process took 24hrs. But I wasn’t in active labor for 24, I was in active labor about 5-6 hrs. 
It’s different for everyone. You can be in labor 1 hr to a few days

I was 1cm dilated starting at 37weeks last pregnancy. The Tuesday I went to my doc appointment I was barely 2xm and based on lmp due date was 3 days away but my doctor was expecting me to deliver 8 days from my appointment.
I couldn’t tale it I switched doctors because the hospital they wanted to deliver me at I had a semi bad experience with my oldest daughter so I decided to not even chance it.
Met the new physician on Thursday just two days after my last appointment with my original doctor and he agreed I was barely pushing 2cm dilated when he checked.
I was freaking miserable you hear me just a hot mess lol. So the uncomfortable feeling lasted all day I went to my chemistry lecture and sitting was unbearable so I tried standing and nothing elevated this feeling.
Went home made dinner and went about my day per usual. But that night I started having contractions and they began 45mins a part and then went to 30 and so on and so forth by the next morning (due date based off LMP) I made it to the hospital at almost 6cm dilated and had my daughter 4hrs after arriving

I had zero symptoms. Suddenly my water broke 🙈 they ended up inducing me since contractions weren't starting. 5 hours of labour, including 1 of pushing. (38 weeks)

My water started leaking slowly Saturday but I didn’t progress at all. Pitocin was started that evening, and I had him Monday evening.

I had no symptoms until I got my bloody show. My water broke within 20 minutes of that, and THEN the contractions started haha
