You really have to be picky with who you have a child with. One of my friends thought she picked an amazing guy but he showed signs of alcoholism and anger issues, well he was there for the first year of the baby's life and now her daughter is 7 and he's not in the picture, she does everything on her own. Me personally I waited until I was married, just because it never happened with anyone else so I think God felt it was the right time. Even if it doesn't work out between us he will still have an obligation to help with the child at least financially but my husband is a great dad he's better at parenting them me! I would say find someone who loves kids, who has a stable income and who is just an all around good dude and you both will be great.
