If I'm polyamourous, should I tell my family & when?

I'm polyamourous, but I've mostly had monogamous relationships.
I'm starting polyamory again, but probably won't really date people right now. (Covid n all)
I've been wondering, as I am usually honest, how on earth to talk to my family about this if I am actively seeing multiple partners?

It depends on how they feel, talk to them about it or watch a show with a poly relationship and see how they react. The most important thing is your safety and happiness

it's completely up to you when/how you tell your family, and if you tell them at all. if you want to tell them that you're seeking multiple partners now, while you're single, that's fine. if you'd rather wait until you're in a relationship and just kinda bring your partners to dinner one night, that works too. when it comes to talking to your family about your relationships (of any kind, really) i think that it depends on how you're feeling & the kind of reactions you're anticipating. for me, i haven't ever really been open with anyone in my family other than my dad & sister about my past girlfriends because i know if i told the rest of my family i would have to face a ton of backlash that i'm not prepared for just yet. with my dad & sister, i kind of always knew they were supportive so i just kinda told them one day, offhandedly, "hey i have a girlfriend" and that was that. all in all, it is entirely up to you! sorry if i'm rambling but i hope this made sense and is helpful to you in some way. best of luck!
