NICU babies iv in head?

Has anyone’s babies in NICU have to have an iv in the head?

It's one of the best place to put an IV in a baby. There are less nerve endings, bigger veins, and they tend to last longer because the baby cant kick or pull them out as easily.

I was a NICU baby and I had an IV in my head. I’m now 20 years old! I do have a scar from it. It’s more of like a spot where the hair doesn’t grow ever grow back or even ever grow. But I just cover it with my hair and no one would ever know

I don't have a baby but I do know a lot of the times the vein in the head is the best to use for an IV on babies

Two of my kids did. My youngest are twins and one had pneumonia at birth and needed one in head

Not mine. But they put them where they find best veins... And these babies have miniature veins, so they are creative on where they put the iv sometimes.
