we absolutely loved the baby name we picked out so when we announced the gender we announced the name. i miscarried exactly a year to the day i got pregnant with our rainbow so when we came across the name phoenix we fell in love.

almost every single person had a horrible opinion on it. multiple people told us they would refuse to call him his name. a few told us it was an “indian rez” name. (mind you hubby is aboriginal) and a couple others just make fun of it all together.

it started to give me anxiety about it. hubby kept telling me to ignore it. leave it alone. if we liked it that’s what mattered the most. but now more people have piped up about it and it’s gotten to the point where he has flat out said to just name him whatever i want because he’s tired of the backlash.

it’s become stressful. i’m not sure what to do at this point. a few people have told us to switch middle and first name but i have said multiple times i want him to have a decently long name because our first has a longer name (kingston) and i was a never a fan of one having a decent long name and the other being a short name like bob.

i know i shouldn’t allow others opinions to dictate my choice. i’m just frustrated and needed to vent because i’m tired
