Hello, FTM. Am I supposed to boil baby bottles before first use or will hand washing them be okay?

I actually bought one of those microwave steam sterilizers. It wasn't expensive and it's so much faster than boiling.

I just soak bottles and nipples for 10-15 minutes in boiling hot water then hand wash them after..it’s what I’m used to from the women in my family and my MIL I guess. But of course other people have their own ways :)

I hand washed mine thinking it would be okay. Then my baby got real bad thrush on her tongue. You’re supposed to boil them after every use pretty much

Pretty sure boiling was when they were made with BPA and most aren’t anymore. It won’t hurt but I don’t think it’s necessary anymore
