nervous about family touching baby

Co

Hi Guys!

Okay.. I’m not due until November, but I can’t stop stressing about the idea of my LO being held/touched in the beginning. I’m worried about upsetting our families, as for my first everyone came to the hospital the day she was born and held her (though I wasn’t thrilled then either).

This time around, however, there’s a lovely pandemic. To add to the stress, my husband and I are both carriers for cystic fibrosis so we know that there’s a 25% chance of our LO having CF versus just being a carrier. That + the virus, both affecting the lungs really scares me for taking any risk.

In my mind it seems totally logical to let everyone know we need to wait until she gets her CF Results back, and then after that maybe holding if wearing a mask? I have family that would be flying in so I’m worried about them being contaminated as well as other family working in close contact with strangers all day. I’m not sure.. I guess I could use advice. Or if anyone else is setting certain rules in the beginning I’d love to hear it. My family doesn’t take the virus serious so I know they’ll think I’m crazy but I just am not willing to risk anything. Any input would be appreciated to ease my crazy pregnant brain :) thanks everyone
