Induction yes or no?

Question

My doctor said I can schedule an induction anytime 39 weeks or later if I choose to (not medically necessary at this point).  My question is, why is there such a stigma around induction?  I am a planner by nature so it’s very enticing to me.  My first labor happened naturally and it was terrifying!

There’s a higher risk for complications and interventions with an induction. That’s probably why there’s a stigma. Some women have great experiences with inductions but statistically they are associated with the “intervention cascade”

My water broke last pregnancy and had to be induced. I didnt have any complications whatsoever. My dr just told me I could be induced as well. Which I am probably going to do because planning is so much nicer.... and I'm ready to meet the little one and get back to normal.

Almost everyone I know who was induced ended up having a c section, myself included. No need to rush nature. If you’re not in labor the baby isn’t ready yet.

There is a higher risk of a c-section or complications in general associated with inductions because if baby isn't ready, the induction won't help. I personally wouldn't have an elective induction.

Because medical intervention might lead to other intervention. If you compare induction and naturally going into labor, then with induction baby is kot actually ready yet, may have issues dropping into birth canal etc, so with induction there is much higher chance of it turning into a csection than a regular natural labor.
Don't get me wrong, sometimes it is medically nessesasy and best thing to do, but if it is possible usually natural goes better.
