Anyone know what happens to returned Target car seats?

A target manager told me a few months ago how they don’t re-sell car seats that are returned. 
Long story short I was told I’m getting a car seat from target for my baby shower(one that I know I don’t love), but I feel bad returning it if they’re going to throw it away. Does anyone know what Target does with returned car seats?

Pretty sure they can’t resell things like that because they have no way of knowing if it’s defective.

I’ve seen unopened returned car seat boxes at target 🤷🏼‍♀️

If you know you're not going to like it or use it then as soon as you get it just return it. Make sure it's unopened and they'll likely resell it.

Just keep it as a backup or donate it to a women’s shelter. That’s what I would do tbh.
