Mono/Di twins When did you deliver?

Question

I had my first appointment with a specialist today at 13 weeks.
Babies share a placenta, but are healthy and actually growing a few days ahead of dating.
The specialist mentioned that most momo/do babies are delivered between 34-36 weeks and that she wouldn't let me go past 36weeks gestation.
She honestly didn't even like the idea of me giving birth vaginally unless the babies were in the Perfect positions, and suggested that I have a C-section because baby "B" might end up ceserean even if "A" is delivered naturally. 
First, I know things change, but I'm so much healthier this pregnancy than I was with either of my singletons. Is it true that I have to deliver them That early? I really want to give them as much time to cook as they can.
Second, I'm really hoping for a vaginal birth if at all possible/safe. 
When did you guys give birth to your mono/di twins for reference?
Did your doctors mention it being unsafe after 36 weeks?
Did you try to/give birth vaginally?

I had a scheduled c section at 35 weeks but my water broke the day before at 34+6!! My doctor said from the beginning 36 weeks was the latest they’d let me go but honestly by then my body was absolutely ready on its own. Both boys were super healthy and big (6lbs 3 oz and 5 lbs 5oz) but the smaller baby was lower to my cervix and the bigger baby had his cord around his neck so they wouldn’t let me do vaginal. My c section experience was great, recovery was not bad and both boys were healthy which is what matters. They both spent a bit of time in the NICU as their lungs were not fully developed yet so they needed so assistance.

In Australia, they will deliver identical twins before 37 weeks (possibly 36) and dcda twins before 38 weeks.  The placenta and cord work harder in twin pregnancies and there’s a greater risk of failure of placenta going past those specified dates.  Your good health will help get them to that cut off rather than any earlier.
I’m having DCDA twins, so “less risky” they say.  My OB said with all twin pregnancies there’s a greater risk to twin 2- so unless optimal conditions they may advise c-section is the safest option.  I’m having a vaginal birth as long as twin 1 is head down (which she is) and twins are similar size.
It sounds like your Dr really needs to explain their reasoning so you can be more informed and have a say in your birth plan.

Im scheduled for a csection at 35+2 . Currently 34 weeks. I had a prior complicated csection so the docs wanna make sure i dont go into labor. Also with this pregnancy i have marginal cord insertion for baby B and was told there is a high risk if I deliver vaginally. I was told by the doc that 37 weeks was the farthest that they would go.

I made it to 35+2 with my girls, which was awesome because I had surgery for TTTS and was high risk for preterm labor starting at 17 weeks. Before my complications, my doctor was going to let me go until 38 weeks and was open to me trying to have them vaginally, but I opted for a c-section. After I developed gestational diabetes, she wasn’t going to let me go past 37 weeks.

36+5 scheduled csection as they were both breech.  They were both perfectly healthy.  37 is the optimum time.  It is dangerous to go later as the placenta is breaking down.

I delivered our mo/di at 36+4. My Drs said I could go to 38..i had pre E at 36+4 so maternal fetal medicine said it was time. 
They ended up being c-section. Baby A was in position but she was smaller, and baby b was transverse with her back up. My dr said the risk of cord prolapse was too great with baby B if my water broke before she turned. 
2/5 Drs in our practice said they’d deliver them vaginally if baby A was head down and bigger (if baby B was breech or transverse back down). The other 3 said both had to be head down.

I am 29 weeks with mono/di boys. I’d love to know too. My OB says he won’t let me go past 37 weeks, and it’ll be a repeat c-section. I had one with my first.
