Visitors after giving birth. What are your rules?

Im from NY.. due date on sept 7 and everybody's excited to meet the baby.. I will only allow grandparents to visit at home..one of my major rule is no kissing touching hugging or carrying the baby and must wear mask and I'll provide faceshield.
Only thing I'm worried about is when they can start to visit? Should they quarantine first or have a test to visit? Or wait until baby has all hes vaccine? Grandpa is coming from florida and wants to come week of my due date. Grandma lives next bldg but she's always outside. 😔 how you guys gonna do this? Thanks in advance 😊

Be stern with whatever you decide. It’s your baby. Don’t let anyone make you feel like you aren’t being fair because you are. Family can give each other diseases and they are no exception. I will be waiting for my baby to have his vaccinations.

We will have my MIL and FIL watching my toddler and older kids and we see them on a regular basis. They are fairly careful about going places especially because they both have underlying health conditions. I feel like sense they will have my kids we all would potentially exposed anyhow :/ They will be seeing baby when we come home. I will just follow normal precautions, don't kiss baby, wash hands. I may ask them to not hold her until she's a little older. Its so hard to know what to do. I feel like this virus isn't going away anytime soon. I just had to tell my 12 year old and 14 year old that for the next 6 weeks they can't see thier friends except for outdoor visits, like riding scooters or bikes and to maintain distance. Previously they were allowed to see their 1 closest friend, we were allowing them to go to their houses and then the friends would come by our house to visit but now that delivery is close I dont want them exposed to anyone. It really sucks that we are all due in the midst of a pandemic, ugh!!!!

I'm personally not letting anyone meet her. We will video chat. My husband's family works in health care and my family lives in a different state. I couldn't even trust my sil to quarantine before our baby shower I definitely don't trust her to when it comes to seeing the baby

If all goes well only grandparents with a mask. No visitors at the hospital per hospital policy (only Hubby). Everyone else can wait until her 1st set of shots.

This is very rare but my hospital is allowing my 13 year old daughter to come visit for 3 hours!!!  💙

Due date twins! But anyways, it may be a little “extra” but i am requiring anyone who would like to see her after she is born to get the tdap shot this month. Just for my own sanity if she were to develop a cough i would be able to kinda rule out pertussis. Also, temps taken at our door, masks, hand washing, and sanitizing. Will only be allowed to hold baby while she is swaddled and have to put one of our blankets over them to avoid contact with their clothes directly to her. 
I know some may think this is over the top but i am a 2nd year Respiratory student who just finished summer clinicals treating COVID+ patients and i see what it can do to adults much less infants!

We’re only having immediate family visit. We see them multiple times a week and none leave the house but to grocery shop occasionally. Though my so mother lives about 6 hours away and she wants to visit 😬 which I’m hesitant about just due to them having spikes in their area the last few days. But regardless everyone has to wear a mask and wash hands when holding little one. Which is soooo different from when I had my first. I took him out at just 5 days old to run errands and now I’m house bound till who knows when with this one. Strange times were in!

0 visitors..i may have to have a c section so there will be a select few that will be coming to help once my husband goes back to work but no one will be holding the baby and they will have to wear a mask and not make any stops before coming to our house.

We live in Canada and numbers have been reasonable but are on the rise in communal living communities in our area, so who knows what will happen by the time baby girl arrives. For now, we will be having immediate family (two parents, one sibling and their partner on each side). Masks and hand washing are requirements for each person.
