I know dilation doesn’t matter and you can go from 0 to full blown labor in hours. But I can’t help but feel discouraged. My 1st pregnancy I was 38+wks and 0 dilated, had to be induced and only got 1cm dilated after 24+hrs and had a csection because of no progress. 
I’m currently 37wks 4days and HALF a cm dilated 🥺😫 I should be happy it’s even anything but I can’t help but think my body will not go into labor on it’s own! I see everyone else is 2cm + . On the bright side my baby is super low and I was told I had a very soft cervix

I’m not dilated but 60% effaced 🙌 
My first pregnancy I stayed at 2cm dilated from 36 weeks until labor at 39.5. I was in active labor at 3cm. 
My second I was .5cm at 38 weeks until labor at 39.4. When I got to the hospital (in active labor) I was only 2cm dilated but 30 minutes later I jumped to 4cm and an hour later I was already at 7cm. 
It’s crazy how fast it can happen, so don’t stress about it!

Yep, cervix was thick, high, and closed at my 36wk appt last week. Sex, walking, and yoga ball haven’t helped 😫. I was already having effacement and dilation by this point with my first two pregnancies.

Me. I’m 38w4d and 0.5 cm dilated. Not really thinking I’ll go into labor anytime soon. But I think my doctor will suggest I am induced by the end of this week because my baby is 8pounds 6 ounces.

Yes. It can go really fast from 0-10. But usually doesn't go that fast for first time moms.
