Did metformin help you?

Question

Just started taking metformin 500mg. Diagnosed with Pcos and have a period every 3 to 4 months. Hope it works and gets up pregnant. I’ve put 20 pounds on since last year 🤦‍♀️ going to work out more and be more aware of what I eat! I want to hear if metformin worked for you and how long did it take for it to work?

I was ALWAYS sick. TMI but if I wasn’t having diarrhea, I was throwing up. That’s both side effects of the medication, I tried both on an empty stomach and with a meal, didn’t matter I was sick as hell. I lost weight very quickly because I was so sick and I was on it for a month. I’ve tried both the slow release and the other one and I was still sick. The slow release made me sicker longer. I quit taking it.

I started taking it a few months ago and was so sick even taking it every which way everyone said it would help. I started taking it at night and let me tell ya it helped sooooo much! My period is like 100% normal and down to the exact day the app says. I don’t know if it’s really helped with my weight but at least I’m having a regular cycle now!
