There’s no point in getting tested if I do not have symptoms. I don’t get tested for the flu with no symptoms, I don’t get tested for the chickenpox with no symptoms, what is the difference with this virus? This is completely out of control.

In my hospital in Houston yes. If your an induction it’s at least 2 days before, same goes for scheduled c-section. If you come in laboring you get tested. If you refuse, which you can and let’s say your baby comes out having difficulty breathing or needs to go to the NICU you won’t be able to see your baby until you are tested. If you test positive the baby must test negative and you must test negative before you can hold the baby. You are put in a negative pressure room, care is the same except the nurses and doctors will be gowned and masked up. The baby can be in the same room but they are isolated. Hopefully when we give birth some things may be a little different but as for now that is what we are doing.

Oh wow I hadn't even thought about this... my friend gave birth a month ago and she got tested so maybe if things dont change I will have to get tested

You will get different responses because it depends on where you live- people on this app are in different countries and in different areas/states within the same country.

Probably depends where you live. Here in my country/province/town I won’t have to be tested until after my stay. If you spend 24 hours in the hospital you have to be tested when leaving. So both myself and my husband will have to get tested. But if your just there for blood work, ultrasounds or as a guest you don’t have to be tested. Hoping that changes before feb because I really don’t want that stick way up into my brain but I doubt it! 😂
