How long did you bleed after getting an IUD?

Since I got my IUD put in I’ve been bleeding for 57 days, I went to my check up and they said if I bleed longer than 10 weeks they’d have to take it out and we’d have to try something else.
Thing is I really like this birth control because I know I’ll forget to take the pills, I’m hoping it stops before then. 
How long did you guys bleed after getting it?

I bled for TWO YEARS before deciding to take it out. 
Just take it out anything making you bleed like that is NOT OKAY.

3-6 months is the adjustment period for all bc methods. Not sure why they’d only allow 10 weeks, especially when they can just give you the combo pill to stop the bleeding if it’s too much. It’s ultimately your decision if you want to wait it out or remove the iud.
