In need of guidance

Hello, I’m a first time mom. I am lucky enough to be able to stay at home with my beautiful baby girl. I grew up with my father not being religious at all and my mother Wiccan. My grandmother is Christian. I’ve always believed in god and have loved him and prayed. I did go to church when I was younger but I honestly didn’t really understand his word or the Bible. I really want to learn about god and everything that comes along with it. I want to learn the history and understand his word. How do I do this? I’ve tried reading the Bible but I’m having a hard time understanding it. Any advice on how to begin and how to choose a religion following god? I don’t know the difference between the types of Christians, or Catholics or other god based religions. Please no harsh or judgement. I really just want to understand God
