natural birth???

hi moms! i’m currently 35 weeks and i’m really considering going natural or at least trying to not have the epidural, (unless medically necessary of course). i’m afraid i won’t be able to do it! what if i give up and cave in? do you moms have any tips or advice? this is my first baby! i ultimately want what is best for my baby but i’d like to try to go as long as i can without it.

If you can’t do it, don’t beat yourself up about it.

You can do it 💪🏼 I did it 3 times. I got induced and I was told contractions are more painful when being induced. Ive always said that once the contractions get super painful / intense where it’s unbearable then that means you are close to pushing and then boom it’s push time baby’s out then you forget about the pain and all you can do is look at your baby all in love. It’s amazing. I’m fine the whole time until it starts to get unbearable but then it’s over so fast just like that and it’s sooo worth the pain once you have your baby in your arms 😭❤️✨ sorry lol I would do it 892367 times I love babies but honestly my last birth 👀👀 has me traumatized but I’d do it again In the far far far future.

I had my first all natural on accident.. I will say it was horrible because I did not prepare myself at all mentally! I think knowing the breathing techniques and noises and moves and things would have helped a ton! My second I got the epidural at 1cm and had a beyond relaxing birth but that's exactly what i wanted! If you truly want a natural birth it can be AMAZING! Just mentally prepare and read up as much as you can! If you end up with an epidural just know you are just as strong and you're still a great mama!!!!

I’ve had 3 natural births and will do it again. Do some research I also found the best thing was knowing I had options if I needed them and knowing what was going on and where I was in the labour. (Eg I knew I was in transition when the contractions got closer together)

I was dead set against it. Like absolutely convinced I would never have an epidural. I had to be induced and ended up begging for one. It was one of the best decisions of my life and I’m not afraid of birth at all this second time because of how much it helped during the first. I have zero regrets. I say go with the flow once you’re in the moment and see how your body handles it.

I am really hoping I can have the labor I wanted the first time this time around. I wanted to labor mainly at home and then do things as naturally as possible. However, I had to be induced due to pre eclampsia and those contractions from induction were no joke. However, I was only in active labor and delivery for 4.5 hours and the epidural thankfully worked beautifully. I’m not sure I’ll have one this time as I plan to decide in the moment if I want one or not. I just feel reassurance knowing I have the choice for pain relief.

I was induced with all 3 of my babies. 1st was hard but not as bad , second baby came out without me having to push easy breezy right so I was like let me have another baby lol and nope her birth was the hardest and she’s my biggest baby so now I’m traumatized lol and I’ve always been against epidurals too so if I am to ever have another baby I’ll probably get it bc mannnnnnnmnmnnnnnnn that last labor 😭 but I’ll probably go without it but I cnt guarantee that

You can do it! It's more mental than physical. Have you been watching natural births? there are a lot of books you can read too. it helps a ton if you understand exactly what's happening and why you're feeling that way. (like the pressure of the baby moving down, etc.)I have had three natural births and will be having my fourth in December. It's painful, yes, but staying calm and knowing what's going on helps sooooo much.

You can do it girl, it will be tough and painful but you got this! Good luck!! I tried all natural with my daughter but after 19 hours I caved in and got the epidural, glad I did, as a first time mom I was in labor for 36 hours and actually ended up emergency c-section but sometimes I wish I went all the was natural.

I would suggest looking into getting a doula. Also read ina mays guide to childbirth. It has some weird parts but is mostly good. Good luck!
