gauges/gages (spelling?)

Question

if you get small gauges/gages —idk how to spell it and i’m not gonna pretend like i do — will they ever bounce back to a smaller size? 
i’ve heard there’s a point where they will shrink and go back to regular size but i don’t know if that’s true or not. 
and if they can bounce back, do they go back to regular lobe size or is it never the same?

I went up to a double zero your ears will shrink over time as long as your ears aren’t bigger than a double zero for over a month

I had my 00g gauges out for a year and my ears only shrunk back to an 8g but an 8g is so small it could pass as a regular earring

“If you have stretched ears” would have been the proper way to say it anyway lol! 
It depends honestly on your skin elasticity, the size you went to (usually under a 2 has good results for going back to normal), and how much damage you did while stretching. Time will only tell. If they get to a certain amount of closed you have options- like getting a few stitches to close them, or getting Botox to close them.
