For the past 2+ years, I've been completely in control of my boyfriend's finances. I hold onto his atm card, and basically tell him how much he can withdraw each month, as well as how much he can spare to order online. It's not a control thing; he just prefers me to keep track of his spending because I'm so much better than he when it comes to savings.

Well about a year ago, he started doing weird things. He'd tell me he wants to take off $50-$100 for a certain item, but then he'd never buy it. He opened a second account, "just for online purchases", and would hold onto that card. I thought nothing of it, until last night. He blurted out "I wanna start saving an extra couple hundred every month. When I asked what for, he said "Um probably for a car and.... something else. I don't wanna tell you, I was trying to save for it without you noticing but that's failing so I want you to help me but I just can't tell you" and started blushing.

I know it's for an engagement ring. He'd been asking my opinion on rings months ago, and saying he thinks he's ready for marriage. I just can't believe all this time I was being stingy with his spending, meanwhile he was probably trying to save for a ring! Lol I still don't think he'll pop the question until next year but it's all so funny to me. Only time will tell if I'm right 😂😂
