Labetalol AFTER baby?

Hi, I had my baby 2 days ago & was on 200mg of Labetalol 2x per day during my pregnancy. However, after giving birth and being monitored for 48 hours in the hospital, the nurses advised I no longer needed to take it as my blood pressure was perfect.

They abruptly stopped me from taking my blood pressure meds and my OB was ok with it as well.

I thought that with HBP meds, you were not to abrupt go off, but would need to wean off.

Anyone ever taken A BETA BLOCKER and stopped with no issues?
