He’s afraid of commitment

My bf and I were arguing for a few days a toon a little break. So it was only like a day and half until I reached out because I really missed him. So we were discussing things and I was saying that of course I want thinks to work and saying how much i care about him. Then when I though we talked everything through and it felt all better, he brings up living together. I just said I hope we’d do it before our two years. He kept making excuses about being stable and wants things to be perfect. Finally he admits he’s hesitant and I said it seemed like he was afraid of commitment. He admitted to that. It hurt so bad. We’ve been talking about living together for over a year. I was going on and on about how much I care about him and then he says that. We’ve been together for almost 1 1/2 years.

Both my sisters made a comment that he doesn’t seem serious because he keeps quitting his jobs. I’ve really tried to be patient because he is having a hard time. But at what point do I give up?
