Is it just me or is no one supportive of a very long distance relationship? I’m in the us and my boyfriend is in Sri Lanka. We’ve met up and everything and I’ve met his family, but still get no support from mine.

Even when people ask if I’m in a relationship, when I tell them it’s long distance they always say

“Oh I could never do that”

“Have you ever even met them?”

“Do you really think that’ll work out”

“That doesn’t count as a real relationship”

I feel so discouraged rn. We are going on 3 happy years together and trying to plan to move in with each other after I finish college, but gosh I’m sick of hearing people give their opinions on it when I didn’t ask.

Has anyone else gone/going through this? How did you block out the haters and overcome it?
