Epidural question

m

I gave birth to my daughter a couple of months ago and the pain was almost unbearable. I had received an epidural but due to my blood pressure dropping so much they lowered the dose. I was also in labor for 20 hours. When it came time to push I swear it was more than just pressure pain. I felt like I couldn’t go on. It was the worst pain I’ve ever experienced. Is pressure pain that bad or could my epidural have worn off? Also, for those who have gotten an epidural, could you feel the umbilical cord still attached after giving birth? I’m trying to figure out just how much the epidural worked and what’s considered normal to feel. I’d love to go natural with my next birth but if labor really hurts that bad with an epidural I don’t know how I would survive.

What was your epidural experience??
