HELP my son won’t sleep without me

My 5 month old son was recently sick with a very bad cold. He’s still not 100% over it and it’s been a week. But he’s been sleeping in his own room for nearly 2 months now. He’s been sleeping with me in the bed since he was sick because 1) he was so stuffy I was afraid he’d suffocate in his room so I kept him with me so I could monitor his breathing and clean his nose in the night if needed and 2) he has bad allergies so this happens about every month and a half. But he’s always slept with me when sick. I don’t know if it’s just because he still isn’t 100% healthy or if he’s become accustomed to sleeping with me, but he starts screaming the minute I lay him down. Anywhere. He’ll only sleep next to me in bed or on my chest, and he doesn’t sleep well that way either. Because I have a noisy husband that snores and a dog that can’t decide where she wants to lay in the room. He will sleep a full 10 hrs in his room, when he’s healthy. I need some tips on how to get him to sleep in his crib again. And crying it out is not an option, he had acid reflux and if he cried too hard too long he will projectile vomit.
