Any success stories?

Had my US at 7w3d, baby was measuring 5w6d. They saw the yolk sac, gestational sac, and embryo measured 3mm. I go back in a week to determine viability. Anyone have any positive stories of this scenario working out?

I haven’t been in this situation personally, so I don’t have a success story or anything to share with you, I’m sorry. But I did want to say that it’s not uncommon for dates to be off, especially in early pregnancy, and it can be due to any number of factors. Human measurement error, the actual ultrasound that was used, some babies are just slow starters then catch up quickly, ovulating later than you realized, or implanting later (since implantation can take anywhere from 6-12 days, that alone can account for dates being off by almost two weeks). And most doctors will tell you that early ultrasound measurements have a margin of error of up to 7 days. So all of those things together or individually could explain why you were measuring a little smaller than you anticipated. I know it’s easier said than done, but try not to stress too much yet: there are tons of success stories of this exact thing happening and when the person went back everything was perfect. I think it’s a VERY good sign that they saw a fetal pole during your ultrasound. It would be much more concerning if all they saw was a gestational sac with nothing in it. I think you have a lot of positive things on your side!! Try to remain optimistic until you have a good, solid reason not to... which you don’t get!
