Induction?? Please help!

Question

I am 38 and expecting our first in about 4 weeks. My Drs have brought up induction for only if I go beyond 40 weeks and a few days. For those who gave birth over 35 with no complications (no GD, no pre-eclampsia or hypertension etc), did you Dr recommend an induction at or earlier than 40 weeks solely because of your age? I did all the Hypnobabies classes and would like to go a few days beyond 40 weeks to see if she will come naturally, my drs have said there is no reason yet to think this isn't fine but I want to know if you've had a different experience.

I was 35 with my first and was induced at 41+3 because he had no intention on making any moves, apparently. My doctor wasn’t concerned about my age, but I had warned her that my husband had been a full month over term, so the possibility was high that our son was going to want to hang out for a while. I just found out that I’m pregnant with #2 and so haven’t had a chance yet to see my doctor, but this time around I’ll be just shy of 39 when delivering.

At 39yo, I had no complications and my Dr gave me the option to induce starting at 37weeks, but not age related. I opted to induce at 41 weeks and coincidentally started contractions at induction time. She gave me the options (induction or wait) and said she was ok with either approach... Nothing to do with age though. I had a healthy boy, very quick delivery, with no complications.

I was 36 when I had my first, and went nearly 42 weeks before my induction! I did end up needing a csection and but my dr was not concerned and not in a hurry to induce me, that’s for sure.

I was 34 when I had my first (totally healthy pregnancy) and I was induced 40+4 days. My OB office will not let you hit 41 weeks due to risk of still birth & I agree. 
My daughter ended up having her first bowel movement in utero(very common in babies past 40 weeks) and she aspirated it. She had to be in the NICU because of this and it really was terrifying. So, her birth experience was not how I imagined it because she was whisked away and I couldn’t hold her in my arms like I envisioned. And I was scared for her! 
With baby #2, I would prefer not to hit 40 weeks and my doctor is on board.

I was induced at age 35 at 41 weeks to the day. This time I’m 37 and I was told 39 weeks they’ll induce me 🤷🏼‍♀️ it’s a different Dr at a different practice in the same state so apparently there are differing medical opinions on this topic.

I was induced with my last baby and I am 40. They had planned to induce me due to my age, but I started laboring the day before, but it was progressing slowly so they induced a day early. I wish they would have let me go on a bit longer naturally, but I also didn't want to go home just to return the next day. Total healthy pregnancy without complications. I do hate how they push induction though.

Had my daughter at 38, and my Dr induced me a week early due to it being around Christmas. However with my current pregnancy it was suggested I deliver at 39 weeks because the placenta starts breaking down earlier as I'm 40 now so I'm sure I'll be induced again.

I had our first at 36 and our second (6 weeks ago) at 38 years old. I did not have GD, high BP, preeclampsia etc with either pregnancy. I was not given an earlier induction date (my OB wouldn’t even talk to me about induction until 41 weeks). My water broke on it’s own at 40w1d with our first and I went into labour at 39w6d with our second. Both vaginal births. Both very healthy babies.
