“brown spotting” ISN’T always normal

Leia

I had brown spotting around 7 weeks and 5 days. Everyone on this app is saying “oh it so normal”, “I had it and I was fine”, or “don’t go to the doctor, it happens to the best of us”. Why are we telling each other these things? I went to the doctor anyways, and guess what? I had miscarried. That brown discharge many women were telling me was normal, was me losing my baby. I had brown spotting for the next couple days. Still no cramps. No pain. Nothing. Then out of nowhere. Heavy bleeding, chunks of blood the size of my palm, and the gestational sac all decide to come out. Oh on top of this I had contractions. NOT period cramps. Contractions that hurt like hell. Had me screaming. For 12 hours this went on. It was traumatizing, and all I could think about is the women who come to this app to get guidance. What if other women would have listened to those on here saying it’s normal, and then this happened to them? This is why I wanted to make this post. If you are experiencing spotting in early pregnancy, follow your intuition. Go to the doctor. It’s better to pay for another visit, than to sit at home and miscarry without anyone knowing. Please don’t think “brown discharge” is ALWAYS normal. What’s normal for one person, could be something completely different for someone else.
