Is anyone else’s bf like this?

My boyfriend is always saying he needs quiet time/space while we are hanging out. For example, he wants time where we sit close next to each other but do our own thing and don’t talk. He doesn’t want to do this the whole time but he usually wants to do it every time. He says things get overwhelming for him and that he needs time to himself, but that he still wants me there next to him. He also doesn’t like it when I try to initiate hugs and kisses constantly, he wants to come to me. Is anyone else’s boyfriend like this?
