Is 5oz too much?

Is 5oz too much for 6 weeks old baby? My baby is now 5 weeks and 4 days and he has been eating 4oz every 2 hours. Last couple days he gets hungry faster and 4 oz doesn’t seem enough so we’re thinking about giving him 5oz every 2 hours instead of the usual 4. Is that too much?

I believe at 6 weeks there is a big growth spurt so that could be why he is hungrier.
5oz would definitely be at the higher end of what a 6 week old would typically eat, but if he seems unsatisfied you could always try .5oz more. If it’s too much he will spit up.
Some babies are just hungrier then others!

That is a lot for such a young baby, my baby is 5 months and has always been really big (born almost 11 lbs) and he eats 5.5/6 oz every 3 hours.

Pace feed. And if it’s breastmilk than it’s what is on this chart for feeding. 
And always increase by .5oz 
5oz is quite a bit for a 6wk old.

Idk my 10 month old gets that but I think it depends on the child? Maybe ask your pediatrician!

My son is 9 weeks and my pediatrician told me 6oz was too much but he only eats 3-4oz every 2-4 hours
