FTM 40 weeks- contractions

I’m 40 weeks today and I’m scheduled to get induced next weekend. I got checked on Thursday and was only 2 1/2cm dilated and 60% effaced. I woke up today at 4:15am with period like cramps. I got up to use the bathroom and had bloody show. My contractions were about 15 minutes apart and then went down to about every 11. I called and was told to wait until they’re 5 minutes apart for 1 hr. They’re about 8-9 minutes apart right now. And they’re getting pretty painful. I can’t imagine waiting for them to come that often and for that long. Did anybody go in before the 5 minute/1 hr rule?
