Do you ask family to get vaccines for newborn?

I am pregnant with my first and not sure how to ask family and friends to get flu shot and Tdap. Do you ask for both? Just the flu shot? Do you even ask? My fiancé and I will get both. His family want to drive down from out of state within the first month the baby is born. Is it too paranoid of me to ask for them to be vaccinated to see the baby?

I made everyone get vaccinated for our first born. However, due to COVID I’m not letting anyone around the baby this time unless there’s a COVID vaccine.

You can't really make them get the vaccines. I'm not going to tell people to get vaccinated but I will tell them no kissing, don't have the baby around your face, and sanitize your hands before holding the baby. Its not going to sit well with some but I don't care. If my child is gets sick I'm the one having to stay up with them and worry over them, not the person so 🤷

I’ve asked anyone who will be visiting longer than a few days until he’s about 3 months to make sure they have their TDAP up to date and flu shot. My mom will be taking care of the house while I’m in the hospital and she’ll be the first to see my son. My in-laws aren’t too keen on flying and seeing baby until there is a Covid vaccine or effective treatment.

If my family wants to be around my baby they have to be updated on their whooping cough and flu vaccines. Really you should always be up to date on TDAP anyways so I don’t find it crazy to ask that of them.

With our first, he was born in May so we didn’t really say anything but with our current baby I’m due December 23 and we asked our immediate families to get at least the flu shot. We also are planning on making anyone who wants to hold her use hand sanitizer and wear a mask.
