Nitrofurantoin for UTI

Is, or has, anyone taken Nitrofurantoin for a UTI during pregnancy? My midwife just prescribed this for me after finding minute traces of bacteria in my urine. I have no symptoms, but still obviously need to treat it so it doesn't turn into a more serious infection for the baby. I'm 9w today. My worry is, the same thing happened to me last year with my 1st pregnancy... detected UTI, no symptoms, antibiotics prescribed… Shortly after that, that pregnancy ended in miscarriage. I know that the medicine probably didn't have anything to do with it… But it still worries me.
