TW: neomatal death Help/Advice?
Two and a half weeks ago, I started having preterm labor symptoms.
My OB didn't take it seriously, MFM didn't take it seriously.
And then one of our twins died at 17 weeks, 1 day.
His heart stopped beating the day after my symptoms started.
MFM couldn't figure out what went wrong, but quickly moved my appointments to every 4 weeks as "this is now considered a singleton pregnancy".
I continued having the same symptoms off and on, so my husband and I went to the ER thw following day. Our living twin was growing well( 17 weeks, 5days as of one week ago).
I had an appointment with my OB this past Friday and she refused to do any follow up blood work, urine testing, or ultrasound to confirm.
She took my blood pressure( it always runs low), weight, and used a doppler to confirm my living twin had a heart beat for Maybe 3-5seconds.
She even started to check for a heartbeat where my dead twin was after seeing palpitations and I had to correct her. They're split top left and bottom right. She Didn't Even Know Which Twin Died Guys.
I also have lupus, hypothyroidism, and my 24hr urine test came back at 226 in the first trimester. So keeping track of those are kind of important to me.
Anyhow, I'm still having preterm labor symptoms that keep coming and going.
It's like my body is stuck in limbo.
My husband is off work with paid leave( thank god!) to help out with our other children for the next week while we sort everything out.
And, hopefully, my body can chill until I hit the 20week mark when L&D can keep an eye on me and the babies.
I guess what I'm asking is, does anyone have any success stories of babies who've gone through similar situations?
If you started having labor symptoms this early, water breaking before/at the 20week mark did your baby/ies live?
I know my body is trying to go into labor with our living twin, and I feel so helpless being stuck in bed/waiting.
But I want to fight for as long as I can so that we might bring one healthy baby home.
I just need a little hope here.
