Progesterone pills

My doc put me on .35 mg progesterone pills to help with my really heavy periods. I started them the first day of my period and have had AF for 18 days now. Of course my doc is on vaca so when I called a different doc put me on provera for 10 days. I’m not sure about starting it bc of the side effects. Also he said after that is done to go off everything for awhile. Ugh how’s that going to help my heavy flo?! Then I’ll be right back where i was. Anyone have similar situation?
