naming your baby a popular name?

40 weeks tomorrow!!! hoping to meet my sweet girl soon. we have had the hardest time picking out a name. we love the name Nora and the name Wren. i just don’t know how i feel about naming her something so common.. especially in my area. i really wanted her to have a more unique name. how do you mamas feel about naming your babies something that is heard and used often?

Honestly, I don’t care. I didn’t choose my names based on popularity. I just went with something that I liked. My son is Wyatt, which is pretty common and my daughter will be Ruby, which is a little less common but still used. I don’t get bothered when I meet another Wyatt. I think they just have great taste in names.

In my opinion it doesn’t matter how common the name is. Your baby will make it something unique to who they are as a person as they grow older. Like how they do with nicknames. My babygirl is named Olivia that’s as common as they come, we simply loved the name. Her nicknames thus far from friends and family are; OJ, Livi, Olive, Liv, Oli.

I just named my daughter Isabella. I’ve always been so smitten with the name and really really thought on this my entire pregnancy - how I just loved the name but didn’t want her to feel so very common. Then I concluded she is our Isabella and just ran with it. Felt right when she was born ❤️

My middle one and my youngest have more uncommon names. But my oldest is named James. He goes by Jaime most of the time. But James has been in the top 5 since basically the beginning of time. I've never regretted giving him such a popular name.

my oldest is 9 & when I named him Caiden I didn't know of anyone with a similar sounding name. (I liked a tv show where the one teenage boys name was Brayden so i went based off of that). now it seems like any form of "aiden" is like every other kid lol even my cousin named her 2 year old daughter Haidyn. 🤷‍♀️ my daughter is Chanel, which I dont know anyone who has her name. my other son is Carter which at the time i didnt know any other Carter's. i have a nolan & don't know anyone with that name & i also have a Rowan & don't know anyone who has that name. i named my kids names that i love & dont care what other people think!

I personally hate it; but they’re very cute names. All of my kids’ names became popular almost immediately after I named them, but Not the spelling we chose.
