scared about pregnancy

so, i just started birth control not long ago. i know that it takes 7 days for the pill to be effective, but since i started the pill on my period, (the white ones, aren’t they sugar pills?) my boyfriend came inside me the 8th day. i’ve read everywhere that it’s effective after 7 days, but does that mean excluding the white pills? i know this is confusing but i’m just worried!!!!
