Anyone get approved for two week quarantine from their employer ahead of due date?

Hi all! I work in person and hoping to join my husband who has already been approved to quarantine for two weeks prior to our birth/due date under FFCRA:

If you were approved, can you share how? What did your doctor write to get approved? She’s already recommended it, but my employer is asking for a letter from my medical provider since the quarantine, per FFCRA, is being recommend by my medical provider. TIA.

I’m interested in this also... I was told if I go out early it comes out of my FMLA that I only get 12 weeks so it’ll start my 12 week countdown and I obviously want as much time with my baby as I can so I planned to work up until I can’t anymore but I also work in healthcare with covid patients so I’d much rather quarantine for 2 weeks beforehand but not at the cost of losing weeks on my maternity leave 🤔

To work as long as possible to help kick start labor naturally 😂

So I talked with my OB today and she said according to new CDC guidelines we don’t need to quarantine anymore and she told me if by some chance I do get it they’re not separating mom and baby unless you are so sick that you literally cannot care for your baby. If you’re positive you just have to wear a mask but you’re still allowed to hold baby and breastfeed 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think she wants me

I know! Maternity leave in the US really needs to be longer I was reading another post the other day on here that in Canada they get 12 months!!! At full or half pay!!! I was like whatttt!!! So unfair! I can’t even imagine going back after only 12 weeks

My employer didn’t require a doctor note or anything for quarantine. I just have to use my PTO until I have baby which will probably burn it all up but oh well.

My doctor told me it was a new guidleine set out by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology to be done working at 37 weeks. I told my HR department and they offered to give me an additional two weeks of Short Term Disability. My boss offered to give me one week of my quarantine pay that I've never had to use, to get my 3 extra weeks off. I am a health care worker, so it might be different for other professions

Very interesting - do you have a link or something that states this?
