When you do a virtual baby shower do you mail a thank you favor ?

Im planning a virtual baby shower because a lot of family members, friends, coworkers and friends of my parents are asking what they can give us or if we have a registry so we decided to create one and do the virtual baby shower because unfortunately I don’t feel comfortable doing a in person one because of Covid, please don’t judge me I know a lot of people think I’m overreacting but I just don’t want any responsibility if someone gets sick in my bAby shower and most important my babys health and mine are first.
When we thought by next month everything will be better in terms of Covid we counted 50 people we have a lot of friends and family but by know we know  it will be irresponsible to have one with that amount since things are not getting better, we were planning a Mexican buffet, tons of desserts and appetizers to thank the people who attended  but know I feel awful I can’t give anything to anyone since is virtual so I’m looking for ideas of what to do? I just feel awful receiving and not giving anything back 🙁

I’m doing a virtual one too - better safe than sorry I figure 😊
We’re doing an activity that requires care packages (my sister is setting that up, and we’ve got really small numbers), so we’ll be mailing out for the 2 that don’t live in town. But totally not mandatory! I don’t think people expect anything to be normal nowadays, so I’d say thank you cards for gifts are a good choice, but otherwise no need to stress about what “should” be there

I’ve attended one virtual shower and threw one myself for my SIL. Both times favors were mailed out ahead of time so everyone had party favors for the party. The one I attended they mailed little Bloody Mary mixes and the tiny shot bottle of vodka to go with it, along with a cute little glass to put it in. That way everyone had a drink to sip on. The one I threw we mailed out a box of snacks, tea, little “Welcome Baby” hand sanitizers from Bath and Body Works, and a little paper bag with a fake candle so that people could light a luminaria and send a positive vibe/prayer/well-wish when they heard news that the baby arrived. In both cases people loved the favors. It’s a good way to be gracious and show thanks when everyone is spending a lot of money on your family.

Maybe you could invite the people to a meet and greet as soon as the baby is there instead of a favor at your virtual baby shower :) that way you could give back and nobody will expect you to do it soon so you can hope that COVID will be better by then.

We’re doing a virtual one as well I’m not mailing favors. I will mail thank you cards but that’s it. You can if you want but honestly my mom can’t afford that and either can we (I mean we’re planning for a baby here lol) so we will send thank you cards as always.
