Thoughts on having a shower for second baby?

I feel this one is talked about a bunch. I’m curious everybody’s thoughts on a shower with second baby. Gender change? Big age difference? Or does it not matter?

Every baby deserves to be celebrated. It can be smaller than you’re 1st but at least have a “sprinkle”. My friend made her 2nd shower a gender reveal

If you had 2 back to back and the sane gender I would pass because you honestly can just reuse other baby stuff mostly and then add a few things. But if you waited a few years then do it.
If change in sex of baby then go ahead.

My #1 was 10 years ago and we are not finding out the gender until birth. I have nothing left from 10 years ago. Also I did not have a shower with my first. I am having one and I don’t care what everyone else thinks. So far everyone said I should have one.

I think if there is a large age gap it is totally acceptable. Gender change, okay.. we are having our second girl with a 2 1/2 year age gap and the thought of another shower never entered my mind. My mom keeps asking me to at least do a registry because some family members want to buy us stuff. I made a small one with a few new outfits, diapers, wipes, new bottles, new pacifiers. We have everything we need so I feel silly even doing that.

I had two from the same gender and they’re only a year and a half apart. I always said the emphasis wasn’t on the gifts, the Godmothers of my girls threw them on my behalf to celebrate the baby. We did games and all got together. I have really lousy pregnancy’s so it was so nice to have a lovely day celebrating 🥳

My first one we had a shower which was back in 2010 (girl) second we had a shower in 2018 (boy) now I’m pregnant again with a boy. I’m definitely not wanting a shower because people already expect me to have everything, the thing is I don’t. I sold and donated most big items like swing,bouncer, infant car seat, play pen (my baby hated it), walker and co sleeper. Why? Because my baby grew out of them I didn’t need them anymore, they were in good condition that other families can definitely use. Just found out I’m having a boy so I told my husband I don’t want a shower I don’t expect people to buy us anything. We are just going to buy the minimum and a toddler bed since I still have the crib. If people ask us we are okay with gift cards. My sister still wants me to have a small baby shower but honestly I just don’t see the point in it.

I had a girl 15 months ago, I still have everything and although I’m having a boy, I was very gender neutral and he won’t need much! So I definitely won’t be having a shower. Some diapers would be nice though...

I think it depends a lot on where you live and what the norms are there. Where I live I have not known anyone to have a baby shower for a second child except one who had a 11 year gap between her children.
If it’s more common where you live then go for it!

It's  up to the  parents honestly. I had a baby  shower  for my first and second. My first was a boy my second  was a girl. There was 6 year age gap between  them. Im pregnant again and would like to have a baby shower. I don't  think it's tacky at all
