Happy Rant!

I just want to rant really quick because I’m literally so thankful!

My mom and I do not have the best relationship (alcoholic). Throughout my pregnancy and last year me engaged planning the wedding Iv had 0 support from her. We talk, but she would ask how are things and then within 2 sentences later flip it to how her life is going and how my brothers are and so on. Really hurt me when I was trying to invite her to go dress shopping with me and she was uninterested changing the subject. My husbands mother on the other hand literally was all in helping throughout our wedding plans, and it is the same for our pregnancy. His mom and his sisters and I are close. I was thinking about planning a baby shower a few months ago but got so overwhelmed due to our large families and Covid. Also because I honestly didn’t want my mother there. The whole process was too much and for my sanity I decided not to. Well this past weekend I thought we were going over to hubby’s parents to celebrate his dads birthday. I get there and it’s a Surprise baby shower! Literally walked in and immediately started bawling my eyes out! I was not expecting it at all. Them going out of their way doing everything knowing I’m stressed about it and just showing me so much love and support. It was small intimate and absolutely perfect! I’m beyond thankful and can’t wait for papas arrival!
