big babies?

have any of you mamas ever been told you’re having a big baby and then actually didn’t? i was offered a c-section because of the possible risks of having a large baby vaginally. have any of you successfully had a larger baby without complications? i’m only 2 cm dilated and i’m almost 41 weeks. trying to figure out the best option for us!

Don’t do a c section unless medically needed. Your body is amazing and you’d be surprised by what your lovely vagina can do, I’d give it a shot. 
It would piss me off if the doctors said I’m having a 10lb baby and need a c section, I’d get one then the baby is only 8lbs. 
The ultrasound measurements are just a guess!

I have had 10lb 2oz and 9lb 8oz babies vaginally at home and they were both really wonderful births ❤️❤️. I’ve never had a late ultrasound but my midwife and OB both told me they were big based on feeling but couldn’t guess at the weight. Later ultrasound weights are often off a bit in general based on friends and family members experiences.

Well. I would go and try to have it vaginally, and if it doesn't work, then they will do a c section anyway.
I wasn't told I have a big baby. I had 8 punds baby at 41+5 weeks eventually, but I also wasn't told, I have some sort of pelvic bone problem. So after a lenghty vaginal labor, they decided to get me into c section anyway. But then there are people who have larger babies vaginally no problem. Actually your body is made for that. And I would'nt want that c section scar I got on top of my strech marks, and I wanted to ttc another baby after a year, but now I have to wait longer because of that.

I was told I was having a 13 pounder and should have a c-section... I said no thank you and ended up with a 9lb 2oz . I should note my first baby was also 9lb 2oz , I was young and let myself be talked into a c-section so with that second one I just said no. I’m currently pregnant with my third son and planning for another vbac 👏🏼!
