Crawling?

My baby is 5 and a half months and can’t crawl but when she’s on her tummy she can rotate herself very well and she desperately reaches for toys out of her reach and kicks and squirms a lot when she can’t reach something. Any ideas if this sounds like she’s close to crawling?

Sounds like she is trying to coordinate her body, which is a step to crawling. 
Just be aware that not all babies crawl. My son didn’t and still doesn’t. He is 10 months old and has only scooted across the floor...he went basically to walking instead. 
You can encourage her to crawl by rolling a ball or staying in front of her a few feet and encourage her to come to you.

My son was doing that and didn’t crawl till 8 months. Give her time.

I have two daughters. My oldest didn’t crawl until 8 months and my second was 10 months! 5 months seems pretty young still.
