Membrane Sweep?

What's everyone thoughts/experience with a membrane sweep? I'm thinking about getting one starting at 38 weeks, because this baby is already big and I dont want to go past my due date. I dont feel any progress happening yet (only 36+2) but I REALLY dont want to be induced. So, what's your experience getting one if you have before, or if you plan on doing it this time, why?

It worked for me when I had one, started with contractions the next day. But I was already 40+4, so that probably helped. Word of warning though I ended up having a 48hr early labour, followed by 14hrs established. I will never know for sure, but I was told that the sweep could have caused my long labour, as even though its more natural than hormones, its still technically a form of induction!

One pregnancy it worked with in 20 mins! Another pregnancy it didn't work. I guess it just depends

Had one with my first. Did not go into labour. :p had to be induced at 41+3 :p

We plan to do it at 39 weeks! My doctor won't do it any sooner than that, which is fine. But since I have to quarantine before due date I'm not wasting any more maternity leave with no baby!

I had 2 sweeps with my first pregnancy and I was still induced. But I still plan to try one this time too😉

I had one when I was 40 weeks exactly for my first. Since I was "advanced maternal age" (35 years young! 😅) they didn't want me to go past my due date. I wanted a more natural induction than pitocin so we did this. Luckily for me it worked! Sweep around noon, had the baby at 3pm the next day.

I had one with my first at 38w and it didn’t work. I went into labour naturally at 40+3. It was pretty uncomfortable/painful for nothing. Not doing it this time!
