I had my baby 3 weeks ago and it still really hurts to have a poo, how long did it take to go away for other mums and did you do anything to help stop it hurting? 😖

I'm at 4 weeks postpartum and it still isn't my "normal" feeling but it has gotten better. I went from sweating bullets the first week to just mild discomfort now. It is slowly getting better. I tried Senokot-S (natural laxative and stool softener) and that worked for a short while. What's best is when I just eat well -and regularly- and drink lots and lots of water. I also use Prep H on my bum still and MotherLove sitz bath spray on my perineum area. (I had an episiotomy during delivery and a small external hemorrhoid)

I remember being really nervous about the pain the first time but I was wonderfully surprised when it wasn't as bad as I built it up to be. I had more of a discomfort than actual pain.

That was the worst part for me 😯 going poop i literally cried and the stool softners did not work

Did you tear or have an episiotomy? I had a second degree tear and an episiotomy. It did take a longer time to heal and the scar tissue was a little sore after that. It was years ago so I don't remember the timeframe on how long it hurt. I remember taking some sort of softener for a couple weeks though to ease the pain. I would recommend that.

Ahh it felt like it took forever! My first son was 4 years ago so I don't remember exactly how long but I was really scared when I went! You could try Natural Calm (magnesium) to help soften.
