Gestational diabetes... Diet control?

Okay so I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes a week ago.  I meet with specialist and we went over my diet and they told me I eat pretty healthy already. We are trying to manage with diet but I follow it to a T and my blood sugar just stays high it’s so
Frustrating I know next week they will probably put me on insulin.  Anyone else deal with this???

The diet they give you is often too high in carbs - go low carb and it’ll be fine. Can you post a photo of what they recommend? 
In some cases though it cannot be managed by diet..

I got my after meal sugars to healthy levels but not my fasting. They told me some people cant get fasting lowered because of hormone spikes in the morning so I had to start insulin a week ago.

I was diagnosed 5 weeks ago and am still just diet controlled!
