New baby insurance ?

I’m going to be a young mom and I’m not 100% how this works. It might be a dumb question so I do apologize.
How do I go about getting my baby insurance? He is due in February. Will it cost money? When do I get it? Any other things I should know ? Any advice

If you live in the US then you apply for Medicaid now and after baby is born he/she will get a card

For me, after she was born I called my jobs HR department. I gave them my daughters info and once I got her social security number, I called them to give them that info. 
My insurance, you have 30 or 60 days( cant remember) to add your child on your insurance.
My health insurance went up by adding her by like 80 dollars ( I think)
