Shettles theory... wrong for me

bl

As someone who finds herself reading up on so many articles when pregnant I came across the shettles theory when pregnant with my youngest daughter (now 7) I always wanted to try it and always spoke of it to friends trying to conceive....

for those who do not know what this theory is it is basically the scientific study of X and Y chromosomes. The idea is that X being the female is “patient and takes its time” and “lives longer waiting to the egg” and the Y being the male is “impatient (faster) and dies quicker” so basically if you have sex before ovulation you will have a girl and if you have sex on the day of ovulation or right after you will have a boy... it just comes down to the timing of “sperm meets egg” based on what science has found about these chromosomes. Now... while some cases have shown to be true. Mine was not. Hahaha.

I was trying for a girl as I am in a new marriage and wanted to give my husband a daughter. So we waited 2 days after my period (I ovulate 6 days after my period) we had sex and I didn’t touch him again until my window was completely closed. So the idea of this is that the female sperm being “slower and living longer” would meet the egg on time four days later.... welllllllllll I am pregnant with a boy and believe me I am most DEFINITELY over the moon because I already have two girls and I wanted a boy for me! so I am not complaining I just wanted to share encase other women were really sure of what they were believing, when wanting to conceive a particular sex. like I was. For 7 years 😂
