What to expect on retrieval day

I know they use anesthesia but how are you after? Is it like after getting your wisdom teeth pulled and you’re all loopy and out of it and they send you home like that? Or do they not let you go home until you are coherent again?

I remember talking to the dr one minute, then the next minute waking up in my hospital bed (exactly where I fell asleep), but my gown was all messed up and my hair felt crazy lol so I realized I must be done already. When I woke up I felt rested, but not loopy. I felt normal when the nurse wheeled me out to the car about 30 minutes after I woke up, but I got very nauseous on the drive home. I laid in bed the rest of the afternoon, but by evening I felt normal.

You go home loopy. I slept much of the day. Two nights later the bloat and pressure were horrible, but then by the third day, I was pretty much as good as new. There was less recovery for me on this than on the HSG.

I was loopy but I am always loopy after anesthesia lol. I was talking to my doctor one minute and they were asking me to scoot down on the bed and then the next thing I knew I was awake next to my husband. We left like 30 minutes after that. We took a Lyft home and I fell asleep on my couch as soon as we got home. The bloating starts as soon as I work up though.

Have a barf bag ready for the drive home just in case. I threw up. Don’t know if that’s common but that’s my experience lol
