Do we need to have sex today or tomorrow? (Read first)

Question

Yesterday evening we had sex. Today (8 o clock in the morning) the opk was positive. This means my ovulation will be somewhere tomorrow. 
I read and hear 2 things:
1) Have sex every other day during your fertile window. Every day is too much to have healthy semen.
2) Have sex the day before your ovulation. This day you have the best chance of getting pregnant.
So do I need to have sex today (day before ovulation), even though we had sex last night? Or is it better to wait untill tomorrow, the day I will ovulate, and keep the every other day frequency.

My husbands urologist explained to him that for best and optimal semen you need to do every two days. Basically if we do today then skip two days and do on the third day. To take this routine from the end of your period till the next one. He explained that if you do everyday or every other day the new semen is not as strong as the last one and it can wash away the previous strong semens. We tried that method in August and not 5w3d pregnant. We literally had sex one time before ovulation and one time after and still hit the mark perfectly.

Wow talk about mixed comments. Your fertile window is the five days leading up to ovulation. For a healthy sperm (that is the caviat) the sperm need 24 hrs to regenerate healthily. You can technically have sex every day or every other day and the chances are the same, IF you both are "normal" down there. Some women's chemistry changes down there with "too much" sex or they arent able to produce their own juices for sex every day. If a man's sperm are slow or not as plentiful it is recommended that they go no more than every other day and maybe less depending on the circumstances. Regardless of amount of sex the day before ovulation is the best chance of UP to 30% (again if both parties are totally healthy). For the typical lady that correlates to the day of the first positive OPK. But some women get an LH surge and dont ovulate or some ovulate later than the norm, etc..  it can literally vary all over the map. But unless you have had tested otherwise, you can assume you and your husband are the "normal".  If you want to have sex more before ovulation (once a day or what not), do it. Sex can be fun and turning it into a mission is less fun. I have heard some folks struggling have luck with the sperm meets egg plan. I didnt try it knowing that it takes the avg couple a year to get pregnant and I had sex every day of the fertile window and more often than that outside the fertile window (my hubby and I have fun 😋). It took about a year for me with one early loss. I am now 35 weeks pregnant. I have a friend who only has sex like once a month with her partner and times things exactly and it took her a year to get pregnant as well. Those are just examples, but mostly still enjoy your relationship, stay relaxed and have fun in your TTC journey.

I posted a similar question on my last cycle, and most of the advice given to me was to do it today too, even though I had done it yesterday. I didn't end up pregnant though, so it's hard to say! Good luck and baby dust!

My fertility doc said to do it during your fertile window which is the day you get a peak test and the next two days after. You should be covering a 3 day window and it only takes healthy sperm 24 hours to regain strength, so unless there is a sperm issue you should have sex everyday at the same time for 3 days. 
Working out and eating healthy helps rebuild sperm as well.

So I was told by my fertility doctor that when you have sex too many days before ovulation the sperm count is fine but the motility is very low, your supposed to have sex when the opk says your ovulating or if you know your ovulation day do it 48 hrs before and the day before so his sperm is already up there to meet the egg.
